*Family season tickets will include only those immediate members of a family living in the same household
(does not include cousins or visiting relatives). Season ticket holders will be issued an identification card that
must accompany the individual or family upon entering the pool. Family babysitters must have their own single season pass.
Admittance will not be granted without the identification card. The facility is owned by the City of Vermillion.

There will be a $75.00 rental fee for use of the pool for private parties. The pool may be rented from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with 48 hours notice. Three approved lifeguards must be in the chairs at all times and shall be paid by the users the evening of the party. Food and beverages may be brought into the pool area, but must be kept around the tables and chairs and be cleaned up by person(s) having the party. No alcoholic beverages allowed. To rent the pool you must contact the Parks & Recreation office @ 677-7064. WADING POOL POLICY An adult or a responsible guardian must accompany all children using the baby pool; the lifeguards are there for emergencies, not to baby-sit. Only children six years old or younger are allowed in the wading pool with adult supervision. Any baby-sitters taking care of children in the pool must be 12 years old or older. Children older than 6 years, that are not ready for the big pool, will be allowed in the wading pool at the discretion of the wading pool lifeguard. Daycare centers using the wading pool should use the following ratio of child/supervisors. 3/1 for 2 and 3 year olds, 4/1 for 4 year olds, 5/1 for 5 and 6 year olds. All strollers/wagons must remain outside the gated pool area. Any child in diapers MUST wear rubber pants, No swim diapers. The wading pool is open 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.; it will be closed over the supper hour. Child must be 48” or have passed Red Cross Level 3 Beginners. Only exception to above rule is for child to ride down with parent. (This does not include baby-sitters or older siblings) Feet First Only on your back or in a seated position. One rider goes down at a time except for child going down with parent. Tower lifeguard determines when next rider may go. Guard @ bottom of the slide is there for emergency rescue only. Family swim is reserved for person(s) 18 years old or older. Children will be admitted only when accompanied by one or both parents. 1 guest child will be admitted when accompanied by an adult who is not their parent or legal guardian. Families vacationing in Vermillion my send their children to the pool for family swim with a Vermillion family. Youth under 18 will be admitted for lap swimming only at the supervisor’s discretion. Youth that can swim at least 20 minutes of a continuous cardiovascular workout can participate. (Youth taking the lap swim test must use one or a combination of the following: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, or butterfly strokes.) The lap swim guard will monitor the 20-minute test. 7-8 a.m. lap swim will use regular weather guidelines, 12-1 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. lap swim will use Cold Weather guidelines (65 Degrees) to open pool. Fee: $65.00, includes season pass for open swim. Red Cross standards do not allow parents to participate in or be inside the fences during their children’s swimming lessons. SWIMMING POOL GUIDELINES Temperature: 7-8 lap swim-no temperature guideline-storms only. 10-12 Red Cross lessons and 12-1 lap swim and 1-5 open swim-65 degree temperature guideline and storms. 5-6 lap swim and 6-9 open swim-65 degree temperature guideline and storms. Storm Warnings: If the pool is closed because of a storm before 6PM, then clears, the guards will be called back and the pool will open. If the pool is closed after 6PM because of a storm, the pool will remain closed. Number of Swimmers: With 3PM in the afternoon and 7PM at night as our guideline. If 0-9 people are present the pool may be closed due to lack of participation. If 10 or more people are present the pool will remain open. Guards should clean the decks, sweep the pit, and do general maintenance or extra guards may go home.
